Five stars for the Cinepolis VIP section. The VIP section has a totally separate entrance from the non-VIP section. In the VIP section, you reserve your seat (which is a leather recliner) and waiters serve you drinks and food during the movie. If you are used to $12 prices in the US just to see a movie in a crappy theater, paying ~$10 for Cinepolis VIP is amazing. It's really the best way to watch a movie.
Good variety of movies, but the facilities are not well kept, they are clean but old and the seats are sometimes broken and uncomfortable. That is why more people are opting for the more expensive VIP rooms. I hate it that the people that sell you tickets don't know what subtitled and dubbed means, so I have ended up many times in a theatre with dubbed movies, these suck!! They should not exist at all (except for cartoon movies, those are totally worth it). The food is so expensive it's ridiculous. And the worst thing that has been happening lately is that they now have pre-assigned seating, kind of like when you are flying. The problem here is that, depending on when you buy your tickets you might end up with the worst seats in the room. If you buy them early enough you won't be able to see if anybody is seating next to you, and you might end up surrounded on all sides, and sometimes these people are loud and here in TJ, people do not have the courtesy of keeping quiet during shows. And because it is assigned seating, you can't just switch to a new seat!!! I have ended up having to move after the movie has started because the people next to us would not shut up!! So assigned seating sucks, and it has deterred me from going to he movies as of late. And I thin there are other venues that don't do that still, so I go to those. But as for movie theatres in TJ, these could be the best ones you will find.
Good service, but the sweets are very expensive… And it's full if big events like the Coldplay Live 2012 concert, something which was only available in one part of Tijuana (Cinepolis Plaza Rio) and which didn't get projected because of technical problems.
This movie theater chain is one of the best ones in Tijuana. It does everything to stay at the top of its game, its theaters are huge and well equipped with reclining seats and a good sounds system, and the screens are great. Great concession stands in any of the theaters. The best in movies and very attentive staff. The most important thing is that you're left with a good taste in your mouth and well attended, excellent place.
A lot of theaters.. choose the movie that you and your family like... They assign seats when you buy your tickets. You choose your seats from all the available seats and you can calmly go get popcorn and not worry about someone taking your seat... I liked it...!!
